autobiographic map - Windmill (Ada)

I depicted myself as a windmill - something which stands still even under big winds or storms. We are living in a community in which surrounded by people. It is unavoidable that our behavior, beliefs and values are influencing and being influenced by the others (which is called externalities in economics). Still, I believe that everyone of us desires to have our own unique identity, personality or position in the society, like a windmill standing firmly and overseeing the world.

(Front)
There are 10 circles in total, representing 10 different facets of my life. This is the front face which refers the surface of mine or the "Ada/Wong Choi Kiu" that the public sees.
(elaboration not in order)
Top: my boyfriend. We have been together for a long time in which we see each other as a family member, best friend and accompany.
Left: intellectual friends. I divided my friends into two different parts, intellectual and non-intellectual, not referring to the intelligence level, but is referring to the period we met and the turning point is entering universities. The left part is intellectual part with my committee members, group member from orientation camp and some of my best friends who share the similar thoughts and beliefs.
Central: family. The most central and precious part of my life. I am being proud and thankful to have them.
Right: non-intellectual friends. We met for long mostly because of uncontrollable reasons, like family's friends, schools and social circles and we shared years of memory.
Bottom: hospitality and tourism. This is my area of profession and also my bachelor degree studying at CUHK.

(Back)
Top: music - a membership card of my previous orchestra. I left music aside since I got admitted to CUHK. But I found I was born to love music during my exchange and I enjoy the moments to communicate with people in music.
Central: ego. Smiles all the time, with heart and integrity.
Left: travel. I enjoy the moments of exploring the world and sharing with strangers. I miss the time in Cuba, Mexico and US.
Right: humanity and integrity. I met a lot of good people during my travel journey which makes me believe that the world is more beautiful than I thought. I wish I could have the ability to uphold and promote that to the society.
Bottom: the incomplete me. I found a part of me is missing out. There is a plenty of room for improvement, including personality and capability.

Everyone is an unique person. Hope we can know more about ourselves through this assignment :)

  1. the form of the windmill adds a lot to the meaning of the work, it's good pick. and you can also make good use of the positions of the wheels to indicate a "hierarchy" of people and things surrounding you. The overall idea is nice. but again, the materials presented are rather factual without deep affection. you can make it more touching by adding something beside the pictures. Say, some symbolic thing that is significant for you and your boyfriend in that wheel...
The first image is very nicely taken. But I think the mood will still be better if you placed the windmill against the sky, even a cloudy one. But the framing is very good:)
